| Cape Town is a city that is fairly spread out in its geography, and you’ll probably need some form of transport other than your legs with which to get around. There are various options available to you.
Hiring your own car is a good option, as it allows you to discover the city at your own pace. With your own rented car, you’ll be able to explore Cape Town by day or go on a self-drive tour at your own pace.
Transfer companies can shuttle you to and from the airport, as well as driving you to destinations around the city during your stay. This option means less responsibility than hiring a car, and you won’t have to be concerned with navigating your way around the city.
Public transport in the Mother City is cheap, however, it is unreliable and we would only recommend it for the brave and adventurous. |

| Renting a car is an affordable and easy way of exploring Cape Town. With an excellent network of roads and clear, easy to follow signs, it’s a relatively painless way to get around the city. And you won’t have to stress about getting stuck in traffic - in Cape Town, traffic density is extremely low and amazingly
light by most North American Standards.
Renting a car also means you’ll be able to enjoy a day trip to explore Cape Town’s surrounding landscape at your own pace.
If you’re interested in renting a car, the good news is that car rental companies are plentiful in this city - and so prices are competitive. Enquire now with us and we will organise a rental plan to suit you - whether you’re after unlimited mileage, a zippy little number for a month’s rental or a fancy car to impress passers by.
Alternatively book car hire directly with Budget Car Rental and read about driving in Africa on our Go2Africa website.

| If you like your travel arrangements to be organised for you, Go2Africa can arrange transfers – either for getting to and from the airport, or for during your stay in Cape Town, or for both. Transfer companies offer a service that is safer and more reliable than public transport, as well as one that involves far less responsibility than renting a car.

| Public transport in Cape Town is an interesting experience and only for the brave. Our minibus taxis - seating as many people as can be crammed in the vehicle at about R3 a lift - are the cheapest option. Rail links exist to major Cape Town destinations, although this is not the safest option, especially after dark.
Otherwise, you can catch a regular taxi. 'Rikki' taxis are popular, with Asian-style open vans, London-style black cabs and sedan cars providing transport in the City Bowl and nearby areas for a low price. |
