A 2-week self-drive tour featuring beautiful destinations - and golf, golf, golf!
South Africa, the golfer's dream destination, offers spectacular golf courses and favourable weather. Your Golfing Self-Drive Holiday combines the sightseeing highlights of South Africa and Swaziland with the opportunity to play at some of the best courses en route.
Days 1-3: Hazyview, South Africa
After receiving your documentation pack and rental car, you'll depart from Johannesburg and travel East, past Middelberg and Witbank, to Mpumalanga, known for its beautiful vistas and rich wildlife. Here, you'll spend the next 3 nights at the Sabi River Sun in Hazyview, where you can test your golf swing on the resort's 18-hole championship course; or take an excursion or 2 into the nearby Kruger National Park and Panorama Route, to name a few.

Days 10-12: Garden Route Area, South Africa
On day 10, you'll depart Port Elizabeth to travel down the Garden Route, home to attractions like the Tsitsikamma Forests, the seaside resort of Plettenberg Bay, and Knysna Lagoon, amongst others. In the afternoon, you'll arrive at Fancourt Hotel & Country Club Estate in George. Fancourt is synonymous with golf in South Africa and features 3 18-hole championship golf courses: the Montagu and Outeniqua courses were designed by Gary Player, and Links course hosted the 2003 President's Cup.

Day 13: Oudtshoorn, South Africa
Your journey continues to Oudtshoorn and the Karoo - South Africa's own semi-desert known for its ostriches and the Cango Caves. Relax in the calm atmosphere and, after dinner, take a stroll under the night skies.

Day 14: Cape Town, South Africa
END OF TOUR
On your last day, continue through the Karoo and the historic town of Swellendam before arriving in Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Days 4-5: Swaziland Area, Swaziland
Your journey of discovery continues into the Kingdom of Swaziland. Once a British protectorate, Swaziland has been independent for several decades and enjoys strong commercial ties with South Africa. The route meanders through a breathtaking mountainscape offering great opportunities to get out your camera or indulge in some souvenir shopping at one of the many craft markets. Finally, your arrival at the hotel in the afternoon will leave ample time for a round of golf on the 18-hole championship course.

Days 6-8: Natal Coast Area, South Africa
On day 6, your tour takes you into the South African province of Kwa-Zulu Natal - home to the Zulu people - with an opportunity en route to travel through Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, the oldest game reserve in the country. From here, the trip continues along the Natal coast until you reach the Selborne Sun Resort, situated South of Durban and close to the white sands bordering the Indian Ocean. The resort's golf course, designed by Denis Barker, has been rated as one of the 10 best courses in South Africa with no fewer than 15 holes featuring water hazards.

Day 9: Port Elizabeth, South Africa
The next leg of your trip sees you fly to Port Elizabeth (not included) - the heart of the Eastern Cape and, with more than 2 million people, the 2nd-largest geographic metropolis in South Africa. Port Elizabeth's beaches, working harbour and bustling industry make it a destination for both business and pleasure, so take a walk around and explore the sights & sounds of the city.
