Amenities are close by - the busy main road provides restaurants, take-away outlets, shops, nightclubs and pubs. Before the V&A Waterfront became the place to be, Sea Point was a tourist hot spot. Nowadays there are more locals than visitors. Be warned - in some parts of Sea Point the seedier side of life is evident, so don’t walk alone at night.

Hotels, mountainside villas and high-rise apartment blocks all run along the seafront and so if you stay here you’re bound to be able to admire the Atlantic from your room. Sea Point is a good option for affordable accommodation. It’s central, too, as it’s situated right around the corner from Bantry Bay and Clifton and is close to Green Point and the Waterfront.
