Here's what we have to say on Cape Town's best beaches...	Beaches in Cape Town are as beautiful as they are unique. On any given summer's day you can experience two different oceans, secluded coves or long stretches of white sand filled with colourful umbrellas and sporty sunbathers.

	Camps Bay
	Cape Town's downsized version of Monaco is barely out of third gear from Clifton. Continue south on Victoria Road and you'll be rewarded with a grand view: a palm-lined crescent of sand, book-ended by boulders and mountainously hemmed in by Lion's Head and the Twelve Apostles.

	Clifton
	Some of Africa's most expensive real estate clings to the craggy cliffs overlooking 4 picturesque coves collectively known as Clifton's beaches. Located a few kilometres south of the city on the western Atlantic coast, the best way to get to Clifton – if you don't have a car - is by taxi or local mini bus – there's always plenty of traffic heading that way.

	Hout Bay
	With its tongue firmly in its cheek, the once sleepy fishing village and now bursting-at-the-seams town of Hout Bay likes to tout its existence as an independent republic. Its montage of villas, townships, cluster homes and architectural oddities reflects its diverse nature: a blend of harbour life, bustling tourism and ordinary South Africa.

	Llandudno
	This sunny slice of paradise is not twinned with its damp Welsh namesake, and if you have to say the name aloud don't try any throat-clearing pronunciation – just drop the first letter. You'll need transport: Llandudno is about 20 km from Cape Town along Victoria Road, the south-bound twisting line of tar that snakes out of Sea Point.

	Muizenberg
	It's been a while since Muizenberg laid claim to being South Africa's most fashionable beach front, but this long stretch of False Bay beachfront is experiencing something of a revival. The decrepit buildings lining the beachfront have been renovated, and the once deserted car park is now teeming at weekends.
