Enjoy the Cape Winelands
The brief was to find a conference hotel for an international sales meeting for 80 participants. The criteria were: ease of access; state-of-the-art facilities; and a destination with a fresh, original appeal.

Guests were met at the airport, then treated to a short orientation tour of the city, including a trip up Table Mountain in the cable car, before checking into the Westin Grand Hotel. Welcome cocktails kicked off on the terrace outside Louis B’s Jazz Bar, followed by a bistro style meal at the hotel’s Restaurant Thirty 7.

After a full day of conferencing at the hotel, participants were invited to enjoy a seafood dinner. This evening function was held at the chic and contemporary Baia restaurant with sweeping views of the V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain.

The next day, participants were split into smaller groups for a half day of conferencing. In the afternoon the group did a tour of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where a group photo was taken. The gala dinner was held at the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest surviving building in South Africa. In keeping with this colonial venue, the theme for the evening was Out of Africa and guests were entertained by a five-piece band.

On the last day, participants were given the chance to relax and enjoy Cape Town’s many attractions. Some chose to play golf, some visited Robben Island and others went to the Cape Winelands.
